I wear this type of pant, 6 days a week a good portion of the year. I have tried most if not all of the other lines. Hands down, this is the best yet. Fit is true to size and true from pant to pant. The overall design of the pant surpasses other companies it form and function. The pant has a crisp and clean look throughout the day. I have no concerns about going to dinner with clients or students after a day on the range. Im sold.
I got a pair of these pants to try out, and as many other reviews online have stated, they are by far the best out on the market. I've tried pants from 5.11, Woolrich, and some local police supply store brands. These have fit and felt the best. The articulated knees and raised back are a very nice touch. They fit true to size, so make sure you measure yourself before ordering. The elastic part of the waist doesn't stretch as much as you'd think compared to other brands, so don't count on that too much. The pockets are great, seams are very well done. I really liked the way these feel like "normal" pants. After this review, I'm going to go back and order several more pair... by far worth every penny!
I have 7 pairs of the original Vertx, 1 pair of the Duty Wear and now a pair of the phantoms. Really like the material, the waist ran 2" too big compared to previous pants but the rest of the cut was perfect as always. Zippered pocket opening is much smaller, very difficult to reach in to pull a J frame or other items out. Also, the internal cargo pocket was noticably more narrow, hard to get iPhone in case in & out. Not sure if this is a quality control issue or an intentional design change. Still my favorite pants by far, plenty of room in the thighs-just not quite as good as previous versions.
