Bates Men's 8" Tactical Sport Side-Zip Duty Boots feature:
This is the second pair of these boots I've had. The first pair were great, but were destroyed in a motorcycle accident. I bought a cheaper pair of Bates, which ended up basically falling apart, so one year ago, I purchased another pair of these. What a mistake. The inner liner near my right heel as completely worn through so my foot is being rubbed raw. I had the same problem with the cheaper Bates that fell apart on me. This was my fourth pair of Bates in 14 years of corrections work. The quality has gone downhill significantly. I'll be buying Danner's for my next pair.
when I first put them on they did not feel very comfortable. it took 2 days to brake them in and now they feel really good. feels like I'm wearing nothing. they are half a size to big. I wear 9 and I got a 8.5 and they fit perfect. I have wore them for a week and use the zipper to take them on and off. they feel good to run in too. highly recommend.
These boots look tough without a heavy feel. Secure. Good looking. Comfortable. Run 1/2 larger.
I purchased these boot 3 yrs ago because of their weight and height. Use them for riding my motorcycle.
Cool in the summer and fairly warm in the winter.
Only setback was the soles and heals keep coming loose, a little contact cement and I'm back to riding.
Buying another pair just because these look like they have seen better days. I'll be a customer always.
GREAT BOOT AND LIKE GALL'S SERVICE
Simply put these boots are not comfortable, my feet feel as if I am walking on solid pavement when I have them on. I had to purchase Dr. Scholls inserts to add cushion.
bought these boots and within 6 months they had pretty much ruined my feet, the boots held up well but offer no support for those of us that spend a lot of time on our feet.
Quick delivery. Boots fit perfect.
These boots are awesome. I used to be a 5.11 boot guy but these changed my mind. They hold up to abuse very well. Only complaints are the insoles, they are cheap foam. I replaced them with "Superfeet" insoles are now are by far the most comfortable boots I've owned!
This is a great boot, I can't believe how light they are and very comfortable right out of the box. These boots do seem to run a little large, I usually wear a 9-1/2 M, 9 M fits best. I bought these at the Galls store here in Lexington, so I was able to try them on first. So either try them on first or order 1/2 size smaller than you usually wear.
I think these will be my favorite boots.
Bates boots are the only boots hat I can order off line and they fit perfect ever !
I absolutely love these boots. They are very comfortable, great for being on your feet for several hours and the zipper is pretty sturdy. I bought some 5.11 Tactical boots with a zipper and the zipper broke in less than a week. I had the zipper replaced by 5.11 (at there expense) and when I received my boot back, it broke that night I went on duty. I would recommend these boots to anyone looking for a great pair of boots that won't disappoint you.
I am a jailer and have been wearing these boots for almost 2 month now they are very comfortable, lightweight, and easy to get on and off unlike some boots. I'd reccomend them to anyone looking for boots.
Ive been wearing these boots for a little over 10 months now, they are extremely comfortable. Other than a few cracks on the toe, the boots are still going strong, may even last me the whole year.
These boots are very comfortable, however they seem to almost keep my feet too warm.
After a year I'm buying another pair of these. Not because anything was wrong with them other than some scuffs. I tried to make them look better and spray "never wet" on them, DON"T USE never wet! ruined them! Oh well, at least I get a new pair of boots. I've worn these for 8 to 15 hour shifts; wet, dry, cold and hot days...my feet stayed comfortable! Exactly what I need and want!
I have been using these for years, so far still my favorite.
Excellent boot. Just bought my third pair. The previous pair lasted me for over three years of wearing it every day in every enviroment. Only replacing it because the sole has finally worn down, still usable. Super durable and very lightweight and confortable, even after being on your feet for a twelve hour shift. Best buy out there.
These boots lasted me well over year, upwards of two years I believe. Very comfortable, soles wore evenly, no seem blow outs or issues with zip sides like some other brands. By far one of the most comfortable pair of duty boots I have owned to date. I still were them outside of work because they just fit like a glove.
This boot is very light and masculine looking. Upon closer inspection I noticed the metal pull on the zipper is much smaller than the ones from past years. The shoe laces width have literally shrunk to half. Overal the boot is fine for now and will see how it last's in the coming month's.
This is my 2nd. pair. The first pair I bought, the second pair was covered under warranty. The second pair has seams that are separating and the sole is coming apart from the boot and cracking. The second pair was replaced the beginning of 2010. I work 8 hours on the road, and the rest of the time is mainly indoors as a Sheriff's Deputy. Gall's and Wolverine(manufacture) state it is only 1 year warranty for this boot. I take care of of my equipment including boots, but they should last longer than 3 years. Comfortable boots, easy on, easy off. easy to care for as well. Just not happy with how long they last or warranty.
I have had these boots for 10 months. In regards to comfort, I'm pretty happy with them. They're an upgrade from my beginnings (wearing Jungle and Desert Tan Issued), however I have 3 year old PT shoes that are in better condition than these boots. At month 4 the toes started separating from the sole. At month 6 the sole started breaking down and coming away in chunks. Also, the insole breaks down quickly. I guess if you have multiple pairs of these boots to wear over the course of a week they'd last forever - but I don't. Would I buy them again? Sure....unless I found a better value elsewhere.
most comfortable boot I have ever worn. Can stand for 8 hours on post doing security and my feet feel fine.. to an extent lol. Now I wear diff boots cuz I have to wear tan boot that are non leather
this boot is a great boot I wear them every day there comfortable and even when they start breaking down. the heel liner is ripped apart making it hard to get the boot off but once my foots in I don't even notice it
VERY light and durable in my opinion. Only buying a new pair because the ones I have now are beat up (still very usable, just look like hell) and I'm starting a new job.
I purchased these boots on Monday and they arrived on Tuesday. They have to be the most comfortable boots I have ever had. I could stand in them for hours at a time and my feet still feel fine.
Definitely recommend these boots.
THESE ARE THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE BOOTS EVER WORN, ZIPPER BROKE AFTER 2 MONTHS OF USE.
Got these boots for a corrections job. Have been an MP before this, and for the price these are close to the best boots I have owned. easy to shine, put on, and comfortable. Only complaint is they are a little warm but again for the price great boot.
i love these boots! i bought them awhile ago and they are working and still holding up to the standards that they say. Highley Recommended to anyone that is looking for a great boot! im ordering my new pair soon!!
these boots are great i'm a fire science student at LSSU in Sault Ste. Marie, MI and they are the most comfortable boot that i have ever bought in my life.
