McRae Footwear originally started as a manufacturer of children’s shoes in 1959 but later transitioned to manufacturing military footwear for the U.S. Department of Defense in 1967. Using their DMS (Direct Molded Sole - Vulcanized rubber bottomed) technology, McRae created functional, durable jungle boots for soldiers fighting in the Vietnam war.  

Today, McRae still manufactures commercial versions of those military boots using the same vulcanizing presses and molds. They have also developed modern issue boots for the U.S. Army, Marines, and Air Force. These modern issue boots incorporate direct attach polyurethane/rubber bottoms applied with state-of-the-art multi-station injection molding to meet current military specs. The McRae Jungle Boots with Panama Outsoles are one of the original Tropical Jungle Boots. They utilize the DMS vulcanization process to attach the rubber Panama outsole to the upper of the boot for maximum strength. The full-grain leather and 1000D Cordura nylon uppers are padded at the collar and the brass drainage vents promote rapid drying in wet conditions. What’s more, these black combat boots are Berry Amendment Compliant and the outsoles are oil, acid, and slip-resistant. 

The McRae T2 Ultra-Light Hot Weather Steel Toe Boots meet ASTM F2413 standards for impacts and compression. These tactical boots are built on a Terrassault 2 platform with a built-in motion control device to manage lateral movement and feature a strobel insole for lightweight flexibility. They are also made in the USA, meet AR670-1 standards, and are Berry Amendment compliant. With all these features combined, these safety toe boots offer leading class comfort, breathability, and performance while protecting the feet.
