Dog "Caller"
As my husband and I are members of our local volunteer fire dept., my jeep has emergency strobe lights and a siren mounted to the dashboard for easy access. Our Pomeranian, Shelby, also likes to ride with us.
We went to town one day and stopped to eat. We parked facing the restaurant so we could keep an eye on the dog, who was in the jeep. We sat down, ordered our lunch and were waiting when we heard the siren go off. We looked outside and saw Shelby leaning on the dashboard looking at us.
I went out and shut off the siren, covering the buttons with a folded towel. I returned to the restaurant and had just sat down when the siren went off again. We looked and found the towel gone, and Shelby, with feet on the dashboard, innocently watching us. I once again turned off the siren, this time covering the buttons with my floormat. I hadn't even made it across the parking lot when the siren went off again. I stuck my head in the restaurant and asked my husband to make our order "takeout" as I waited in the jeep with Shelby. Now we eat before we go out or leave Shelby home!
