Eye relief is the distance between your eye and the ocular lens, or eyepiece. This is preset by optics makers and shouldn't concern you unless you wear eyeglasses. Placing binoculars against corrective lenses doubles the eye relief, resulting in blurry images.
To avoid problems, we recommend that eyeglass wearers fold the rubber eyecups down, and put the binocular lenses right against their glasses. This restores the eye-to-lens distance for proper use.
