Using specialized design concepts and extraordinary construction techniques, ASP® is changing the future of handcuff use. An interlocking, unitized frame of high strength stainless steel is forged on custom-built progressive dies. The cuff is then overmolded with ordinance-grade polymers making it stronger and lighter. Cuffing a suspect is now easier, more efficient, safer and faster. Uses a standard handcuff key. Weighs 9 oz.

  • Dual Keyway
Beveled keyway on both sidesofeach cuff, so a keyway is always accessible.

  • High Contact Bow
Flat bow section provides single movement application preventing slippage on wrist.

  • Smooth Action
Engagement is so smooth throughout the 22 positions that no back loading is necessary.

  • Double Lock and Warning
Double lock foils attempts to circumvent the locking mechanism by trying to jam it. Yellow indicator alerts you to double lock the cuffs before releasing your subject.

Will not fit in standard handcuff cases.

Product concept is perfect for the job. However it is not to good while at the jail and the locks on the cuffs decide not to work and you have to cut the cuffs off of the prisoner. This has happened on several pair of the chained cuffs I have had.

I really like the ASP cuffs. I am a certified ASP handcuffing instructor, and I will admit that yes, they will overlap, but so will any cuff with appropriate pressure. These cuffs will not fail at the hinge like many of the all metal cuffs. These were actually banned for use in my county jail, because the hinge didn't break, and broke the inmate's wrist instead.

I took handcuff training with a Sheriff's Dept. Trainer also teaches for the FBI, and he recommends ASP. I've got huge wrists, and they just fit, even his over-sized S&W's wouldn't fit me. Love these cuffs, No problems with them, the keyholes are tight, you just have to work the keys in and out.

I have 3 pair and love them. Yes the arm can bend. So does every other cuff out there. REGULAR keys work! If it doesn't I would get a new key. They dont fit in a regular case so mine dangle from a loop which saves space on my crowded belt. The action is very smooth.

I've been in law enforcement for over 6 years now and also teach tactical restraints... These cuffs are great. For those of you who are saying you're bending them or they don't rotate all the way around without help, there flex cuffs., there supposed to have some bend/give to them, Keeps them from breaking. If the cuff won't go around in one shot and needs help, use another set to space the inside double arm of the cuff. (I put the single arm from another pair of cuffs inside the double arm on the pair I was having a problem with and lightly twisted back and forth) And if all else fails, send them back to ASP, they back every piece of their gear 100%, no questions asked.

ASP Tactical Handcuffs

I purchased two pairs of chained tactical cuffs from Galls made by ASP. Im am pleased with their overall performance. PROS;Im a smaller officer so whatever i can do to limit my belt weight load im all for. Asp tactical cuffs does this. These cuffs are lighter than my s&w cuffs and just as strong. The access to double locking on both sides is a benefit for ease of use. I havent found a cuff key that wont work on them unlike some reviewers(but i only use tactical swivel keys) CONS; Takes a new cuff case to carry them. Has the potential to overlap in a resistive type apprehension. Never had a problem with this either but its obviously a setback. my ASP cuffs also took a while to break in so they are smooth as my smith cuffs. The double lock being on both sides can also be a detriment if the person tries to pick them. I only leave a person in cuffs for a short time so it isnt really a problem. If i was doing prisoner transport i would opt for the smith and wesson or other cuffs. But for du

I bought two pair of these in the chained model, the first time I used them I had the dreded overlaping happen, it was late on a extended shift so I thought it might have been operator error, a few days later it happened again about two through three hours after shift started, needless to say they went into response bag as backup cuffs, and the S&W cuffs went back onto duty belt, no problem with steel overlapping.

I LOVED these handcuffs for a year or so. I recommended them to anyone who asked. Then I got into a fight with a subject in a sandy area in front of his house and couldn't get them to stay closed. I assume it was the dirt/sand that did it. Now they're useless. I'm back to using my S&W's I started with 10 years ago.

I like these handcuffs for classes where I instruct students in arrest control tactics. They are well curved on the inside and students will appreciate them when they are handcuffed many times in a session. Also, larger students appreciate the slightly larger opening. I don't use the pink ones on the road but they add a little levity to training. Because of the comfort, even the toughest recruits soon start asking to have the ASP handcuffs used on them, even the pink ones.

I'm an Army MP working in Army Corrections facilities, and just a few things about these cuffs:

1) Yes, it is easy for the arm to overlap. If you apply them correctly, even in a struggle, this is not a problem.
2)I've used several different keys with these cuffs, not including the one that came with them, and had little difficulty unlocking them.

These cuffs have been invaluable when subduing fighting inmates or moving compliant max custody inmates. I highly recommend them, and will be buying another pair soon.

That being said I keep a pair of Peerless hinge cuffs on the front of my belt for the no people. For the happier customers they work very well and seem to be more comfortable than the S&W M-300. They are much lighter and easier to use with the visual double-lock indicator.

Nothing against ASP but theese cuffs are very unsafe. I've owned 3 pairs hinged & chained. I prefer the chained ASP cuffs but the arm when swinging around will overlap with little pressure(VERY DANGEROUS IN A STRUGGLE) on both hinged & chained. On mine, the arm was crooked and stopped halfway through and needed to be helped into locking position.

They were supposed to be a back-up pair but whenever someone is fighting (which is a lot for my sector) I use these first to initiate my wrist locks because the action is so smooth. This will be the third pair I am purchasing this year. I have had a couple of pairs er... uh... borrowed yeah that's the word, and never returned by fellow officers.

First off let me say up front I have worked in a jail, and now I am on the road. I first read a few reviews on these cuffs and noticed people saying that they are easy to pic because of a key hole on both sides. Ok, first if you can honestly say at 2 in the morning while wrestling with a meth head you always put cuffs on correctly, you are a lair or you don't work the road. Secondly if you are cuffing people properly, back of hand to back of hand you never have to worry about them picking the locks on any handcuffs. About them bending, I had a 50 dollar pair of S&W Hinged and i bent those, I haven't bent a pair of asp's yet, but I am sure I will sooner or later. The fact is about these they are light weight, strong, easy access to a key hole no matter what the situation is, and they are very easy to unlock. The oversized ratchet and pawl actions make them damn near impossible to bang and unlock unlike the peerless cuffs. My review, 5 starts for these cuffs, perfect for the road and the

If you search and watch your prisoners, they shouldn't be able to unlock the cuff either way. They're just a little big, but I keep them in a Tac vest pocket. Regular keys work, I don't think they're sharp, and they're strong. Only thing...mine don't snap around when they're being applied as well as traditional cuffs.

These cuffs def. give me the added assurance I need to restrain the perps! They look pretty good to, just make sure you keep them out of the case cause like everyone else said they are slightly larger than standard cuffs therefore won't fit, I hang mine on the loop or keeper attached to my duty belt in the front ready to go.

Extremely light-weight and very durable. I own two pairs of this variety and they're just so nice I'm going to buy a couple of pairs of the hinged as well.

One thing I've noticed with mine and those of others is that the plastic portion seems to be sharper than the same portion of steel cuffs. If you strain against the cuffs they'll cut the wrists of the person cuffed fairly easily.

In the healthcare field, where you can manage to leave the restraints on a minimum time and need only moderate security, they're perfect. Plus if the patient passes out or crashes, keyhole is always up. The ultimate stretcher handcuff.

Overall I like the product. Light weight, and handy having cuff release on both side. However, after using it only a few times, one side of the cuff release broke. Almost had to get the saw out to get the cuff off. Scary thought.

I worked corrections for 5 years before I became a police officer, one thing I have depended on is a good pair of cuffs. I love the light weight of the cuffs, and the smoothness that comes when you are applying them. Since I have bought mine I have seen more of my co-workers purchasing them, I left a pair on some one I passed off to another oficer and the officer kept the cuffs for about a month before returning them to me saying it was a testing period until he bought his.

These cuffs are great, the only issue with them is they will not fit in a standard cuff case. I had to buy an open strap type cuff holder.

I love the cuffs and I wish I had room on my duty belt to wear them but I'm afraid I can only keep them in my gear bag in case I need a third or fourth set. Still great but not for wearing on the gun belt.

They may be a but big but I use the strap cuff holder to carry them and it makes as a good maglight holder as well. easy to use and don't have to worry aboout the C.O.'s cuffing over the key holes when turning suspects over

I bought a set of these recently and I have to say they are impressive. No break in time whatsoever. I had an overly loose handcuff holder that these fit into pretty well. Good Stuff, but would you expect less from ASP.

These cuffs have a S&W type double lock. They are VERY STRONG. The double lock and the swivel release with one key turn. No more going both ways. And there is a key hole on both sides! No more looking down (mistake) when speed cuffing!

Must have been designed by someone in the field. Makes cuffing and releasing easier and safer. Smooth working. Secure and sturdy. One Drawback... requires a special case sold by Asp or a cuff strap.

I just bought Your Tactical Handcuffs ( ordered from Galls ) and thought they were great, with dual key slots and ect, until one of our 14yr old kid cadets walked into my office and said you want me to show you a neat trick with those cuffs. He took the cuffs and a push pin like you attach papers to a cork board and opened the cuffs faster than I could with my key. I say this to tell you I think you are on the right track but this is a very serious flaw that could get officers killed. Please get a set of cuffs and take a push pin, slide into the key hole where you see a little shiny metal piece and push it and you will see what I'm talking about. Please let me know if you receive this and what you think. Meanwhile my new Tactical ASP cuffs are only for backup purposes.

I have been in the corrections area for a while now. I always used my issued Smiths with some difficulty due to my large hands. With the unexpected bulk of my new ASP's I have no difficulty with subduing an inmate.

I just bought my cuffs and was very happy with the way they were built and I came into work and showed my supervisor and he said take them back because we can not use them. The reason why is because they break too much.but I would still rate them high and I can not even use them.

I use handcuffs a lot working at a correctional facility and these are great! They're easy to put and the dual keyway makes taking them off less of a hassle. Not that it matters but the inmates say these cuffs pinch less. My handcuffs are getting used more and more and some of the other officers are going to get some. Truly a great product!

The only downside to this cuff is that it will not fit any standard duty case. I use these cuffs regularly on duty and have not failed yet. Even during and after hurricane Charley, Jeane, and Francis. I recomend this product to all of my friends. Don't forget a shot of silicone on the hinge once a month.

I recently was introduced to these cuffs from the Captain of our Security force. I currently carry S&W black stainless cuffs, and I will be moving those to secondary duty soon. The ASP cuffs have a Feather-Light action that is unreal. I HIGHLY reccomend these cuffs ESPECIALLY to the officer starting out.

These cuffs are great because they are easier to apply to a suspect, and the fact that there is a key hole on both sides makes for easy access to unlock and less worry about cuffing with the holes on top when you are cuffing a less than cooperative suspect. I have also gotten comments from suspects I have arrested that these cuffs are more comfortable than previous times they have been arrested, granted suspect comfort is the least of my concerns, but just something intersting.

Pro: These are good quality, sturdy handcuffs. These handcuff are bulkier and don't fit many standard cuff cases. Forget about most double cuff cases. For those of you who are required to wear two sets, I hope you have the room on your belt.
