Quality Needs To Be Drasticall Improved
First the zippers failed to stay up after 6 months, then the soles separated from the toes. They lasted about a year but you get what you pay for.

Worst Boots Ever
These are the worst boots that I have ever bought. They are very tight in the ankle which makes them painful. Also the zipper is a very cheap zipper.

Comfortable but weak
I have had these boots for about 4 months. They are very comfortable but the zippers are stuck and broke. They are up though and I continue to use them. I do wear them about 16 hrs a day.

Everyday Boots? No Way!
There is excessive tounge material which presses down on the top of your foot making it a very uncomfortable wear. So uncomfortable in fact that I won't wear them. Thank goodness they were issued.

Great pair of boots
I work as a full time deputy sheriff, volunteer at a FD and EMS agency, and part time at a FD/EMS agency. I use these boots for all. They show alot of wear, but are still standing up after 13 months. Zipper works great as well.

Comfortable but cheap quality!
I bought a pair of these boots 3/22/07 on 8/31 the zipper busted out at work. They were very comfortable and nice for calls in the middle of the night. Did not have any other problems besides the zipper busting.

Terrible Boot for the Money
I received these boots two months ago. I wore these boots about six times, the front toe area between the sole area started coming apart.

not happy
There is no air flow in these boots so feet sweat terribly; then when you go in the cold feet freeze. Need to make something so that the zipper stays up I am using a Rubber band now.

OK..boots
I've used these boots for about 5 years. The zipper handles have long since broke off, I'm now using a paper clip and tape. The zipper itself will not unzip without it. Never had trouble with them unzipping on their own. The insoles are garbage! Like walking on a board. They do not breath well at all! The liner has torn from the sole. Overall a ok boot...just not made for long term punishment or cold.

I've had these boots for about three years and worn them off and on for work. I didn't like how the zipper didn't stay up real well, but it was alright. Then over the span of the last week the whole sole fell off and I had to re-attach it with drywall screws, so I would probably be looking into some different boots than these.

I got these boots because on the origional boots I bought the zippers broke after about 4 months. These were the replacements that I got for them. Now the zipper has broken on these along with the boot seperating from the sole once again after only around 4-5 months. THEY ARE JUNK... Do not buy. These boots deserve a negative Star.

Good Overall Boot
So far I am very pleased with this boot. It is very comfortable and easy to get in and out of. I would recomend it. We have a very rough floor in our station and the tread seems to be holding up well. Can't beat it for the price. I do have one suggestion: Add an inside zipper flap to protect your socks. I have not had a problem with this yet but the potential is there.

I've been using these boots in Iowa's cold winter and they have been nice and warm, and also keep great grip. They are great for ambulance workers. I recomend them for people who need to get boots on in a hurry.

I Love these boots! - Highly recommend for EMS/Rescue
Worth the extra cost! With the steel toe and side zipper, these are the ultimate standandard for boots in EMS and Rescue. Being in Florida, you can find yourself in all sorts of adverse conditions. My feet don't feel overheated with them as long as I use a good quality set of socks (like SP101) to wick away moisture. If I was still in Pennsylvania winters, I'd still use these boots with SP214 socks. NOTE: The socks you use are just as important as the boots you choose. Take it from a backpacker.

Great, Durable Boots
These boots lasted me three years before the sole finally separated from the leather at the heel, and there was still plenty of tread-life left on the soles. Great, long-lasting boots for your hard-earned dollars.

Best footwear ever
one word, WOW! I just picked these up and I have to say not only is this a great duty boot but it's easily the most comfortable pair of footwear I've ever owned. My slippers aren't even this comfortable, no joke. Also, there IS a "sock Protector" that lines the inside of the boot next to the zipper, I can see how one might miss it but just run your finger along the inside of the zipper and you'll find it. no complaints, awesome product. And as usually galls got 'em to me in 3 days.

Not too bad, but not for me
Galls got these boots to me in about 3 days. I think they have stepped up the speed of their great service in the past few months and this is just one reason why I continue to order from them.
All these great reviews were what convinced me to order these boots, but when I got them, I was unhappy to find that the steel toe inside was very uncomfortable and that my heel does not stay in the back of the boot. It seems like the lace holes are in the wrong spot.

Awsome Boots

WAS a great boot...
Within the first month the leather started to flake off of the top and about a month ago the bottom sole started to seperate from the boot. Feel great but not durable from my experience. Great customer service by Galls for the exchange!

Could be a better boot and guarantee
This is a comfortable boot however I am disappointed in its quality. I purchased these boots for station duties and had them only 80 shifts (8 months) before they began to separate at the welt from toe to heel. Being in the fire service I need dependable equipment. I called for guarantee info and you only have a 6 month guarantee. I would not recommend this boot as they may fall apart in the line of duty.

Good General Boot w/Some Reservations
Priced right, well-made, relatively comfortable, easy maintenance. Scree collar wearing after one-month (probably from ankle holster). Footbed needs up-grade for long shifts. Zippers need lock so they don't slide down; not suited for extended hikes.

You Get What You Pay For!!
During Medic School and working as an EMT-I I wore a pair of bates six days a week for a year with no complaint whatsoever. I bought a pair of these a few years later and worked only 3 days a week and they got tore up in less then 4 months. Not comfortable as bates either. Pay a little more and get a better boot.

I am a full time Houston Firefighter since Feb 2001. I ordered these boots before I started the Academy. I still have these very same boots to this day. Sole is still in good shape. Leather is a little cracked but normal for time in service. I just found that there is a hole in the side after 4+ years of tough use day in day out. I am placing an order for another pair.

Poor Zipper Design
The boots are not bad considering the low price. The zippers unzip every shift as I wear them. I had to use two safety pins and rig them to hold the zipper in the zipped up position. I also noticed that I can feel rocks through the sole when I walk on rough ground. I have had them for about six months and they are holding up well, I just wish there was a strap to hold the zipper in place.

Decent Boot
Wore these boots for about 6 months before I switched to a different boot. They are very comfortable but when it got cold here in Wisconsin, they just didnt have the insulation to hold up. Also the zipper drove me nuts. I had to re-zip it about every 20 steps I took.

Need a zipper stopper

Very good except for zipper
Had them for about a year. Held up great except zipper pull broke after 7 months and zipper always falls down, otherwise very comfortable. Do alot of ladder work and steel shank provides a lot of support. Really need to do something about zipper.

I have used these boots for a few weeks now and I have to say that they are great. I have not had any problems at all and they are very comfortable. You will not be dissapointed with them. Only thing to maybe change would be a closure flap at the top of the zipper to ensure it stays up but only a thought I have had no problems.

Poor quality
Me too... the zippper falls down. The first pair that I had squeaked. They were replaced by Galls months later (thanks). Now the replacement pair squeaks at the heels. The liner is totally worn out at the heel. You have to wrap the laces to get the zipper to stay up- why have a zipper boot?

nice boot... weird sizing
These boots Are comfortable once one gets the right size. it apears to me that they are atleast one size biger than the tag says... im an 8.5 i orderd an 8.5 and the regardless of the size that appeard on the tag they were at least 9.5 if not bigger. in fewer words they run BIG. The boot IS comfortable once the proper size is figured out. Easy to get in and out of, the vibram soles are amazingly grippy. Over All Good Value.

Not suitable for extensive wearing. The soles are rigid and feet start hurting if worn for over 6 hours staight. Material is air tight. Feet start sweating fast, even in cold weather. Constant zipping up required. SPEND THE EXTRA 20 BUCKS!

No problems Here.
I have been a Security Officer for over three years now and started at a university as an outside guard. Boots held up real well to rain and the winter elements. I have just recently become a LP (Loss Prevention) Officer and have had to really put some miles on these boots. The zipper on the left boot just finally gave way and some of the stitching has finally ripped. I have sent these boots to hell and back and I am very pleased with the outcome. I have ordered new ones. Good boot for your limited dollar.

Low Grade Boot
After a short break-in period they were very comfortable. After 6 months both zippers no longer worked. But I did wear them daily for 3 years untill the soles started to give way. Overseas shipping was very High.

Still wearing the boot after two years. Interior fabric is tearing from wear and zipper dosent stay all the way up anymore, but still serviceable. Materials are cheap, but overall good boot for the price.

Great buy for the money. Havent had a problem yet. The zipper does slide down a bit but not a big deal. Spend the extra money and get a can of waterproofing spray and keep them clean. They'll last forever.
