Rocky AlphaForce Waterproof 8" Zipper Boots feature:
Only worn a few times but very comfortable with good arch support.
I've had these boots for 8 months now working 10-13 hr shifts and they are great
I'm on my second pair in 4 months I exchanged the first pair after 2 months of wearing them working corrections with the seams ripping apart. Now the second pair is doing the same ad well ad the leather cracking. They are very comfortable but they don't last.
I have had these for about 4 years now working 12 hour shifts and on my feet a lot, they have been good. comfortable, good tracktion in the snow. some of the stitching is coming undone and the iterior is strating to frey a bit, But with all the use and abuse they have held up. I am looking at getting another pair.
After owning a pair of these I will never buy anything else. I've had the same pair for 3 years and just bought a new pair. They are super comfy in widest size available. I wear to the gym, hiking, out to dinner, etc. The zipper has never failed on me , the insole is the best I've set my foot on. Very pleased.
I am a patrolmen who works 12 hour shifts so most of my time is spent driving. The first thing I noticed is the boot size runs small. Thought they would just need to break in but after a month of wearing I can't wait to get these things off by the end of day. My feet are killing me six hours into my shift. In addition, the buttons don't line up correctly on the flap which covers the zipper on BOTH boots. One snap has to stay open causing the open button to make excessive noise when you walk. Lately I've been having problems with the zippers not closing all the way towards the end and the tread seems to be deteriorating in some spots. Worst boots I have purchased by far.
I bought a pair of these in 2010 when I started working security. They broke in quick and fit like a glove. There water proof which was awesome and they clean up quick and look awesome with some polish on them. I wore them as a security guard for 3 months then through a corrections academy and as a officer for 2.5 years. They lasted me about 3 years until the side where my big toe is where the boot meets the sole ripped open. That is why they get a 4.. I even considered getting them fixed but ended up getting a pair of under armor boots. Overall I would buy these boots again if needed a pair of class B boots. I think for my class A boots ill buy the paratrooper boots.
I loved my boots, until after a few month of wearing them the flap that snaps over the zipper tore off.
I had my first pair for 5 years. Had to get a new pair because the rubber separated from the leather. Not bad for all that abuse.
I'm on my second pair. My first pair lasted over 2 years. It isn't part of the description, but these boots are waterproof.
I wore this boot for two years strong. Very comfortable and rugged. I just ordered my second pair. Highly recommended.
I've worn Rocky brand boots for 6 years and never had a problem till now. I've tried to wear these boots for the past 4 months, they are terrible, the leather has a weird cracking to it and they still have not really broken in. They are very stiff and hard to run in, plus the way the fit is I have to still untie them to get on/off which kinda makes the zipper part useless.
I ordered these boots on the 8th of July so that they would be to me by my cutoff 2-3 weeks as per the website. They are now telling me that I will not receive them until the 2nd week in September..
For the money they are a good boot. I work in corrections and am on my feet 8 to 12 hours a day. After 5 months I had to re-glue the soles in several places. VERY comfortable, but marginally built. You get what you pay for.
For the money they are a comfortable boot. I have had several pair over the years. They come apart as noted in the other reviews. I am boot abusive and I have respect for these, there are better boots out there-more money too.
I got this pair after returning a pair of Bates zipper boots that broke down after two months. These started showing wear after 6 month. I'm now in the market for another pair of boots. At the same time though they are very comfortable. In the end, I'd say buy these if you're on a budget, and don't mind having to replace them after a year or so.
My department issued these boots for which I am grateful. I had heard nothing but great things about them...then I wore them. They are REALLY comfortable however, the rubber toe has separated from the shoe and the flap covering the zipper at the top has began coming loose at the seam. THEY ARE ONLY TWO MONTHS OLD!!! Really, Rocky? Is this what we are to expect from you?
Very comfortable. However, after just 7 months working Corrections, they started to fall apart. The eyelets broke, and the leather cracked in odd places. Poor construction and material, yet more comfortable than my Bates. Awesome warranty!
I purchased my current pair on 07/03/07, and after only approximately 7 months they're starting to breakdown. The leather to nylon stitches are drastically fraying. The zippers are both beginning to come apart and the seam where the rubber meets the toe is starting to break down. I don't know what Rocky did to their product but I know my last pair lasted for a solid 2 years before seeing the same type of problems.
Very comfortable boot. The covering of the insole came loose within the first week. The zipper isn't very smooth. I would try another boot before I bought this again.
Very comfortable boot. I have had them for over 2 years now and the only issue I've had was after about 6 months the back outer layer started to bubble and peel off. I am buying another pair.
These boots are very comfortable and extremely light weight. As comfortable as a pair of tennis shoes. I am satisfied that I didn't go with a higher priced boot, because I couldn't be more pleased.
Ordered on 04/22/07 it's now 05/14/07 still no boots, web site says 2 to 3 weeks, called, they then said 4-6 weeks, could not cancel. was told I will have to wait, this is unacceptable, very poor customer service, will not buy from them again.
I work as a professional Firefighter and Paramedic. I abuse these boots for over 80 hours a week. They are going strong after 2 1/2 years!!!
Very good boot for the money. I have worn my current pair for over a year and they are holding together very well, hardly any wear on the sole.
On my second pair and love them. Very comfortable and gotta love that zipper. Highly recommended
I have had these boots for over a year. I used then first as an explorer and now I use them at the United States Coast Guard Academy. They are very comfortable.
Very comfortable boot. Down side is the the gore tec separates from the leather around the shoe string mount and becomes non-water proof and look like hec.
