MagLite MagCharger Rechargeable Flashlight

I have had my mag charger from 1986. It has served me well. The only cons are the weight and the bulbs on mine always broke if you dropped the light while it was on. I always carried a spare bulb in the end cap. I have only had to get three new battery packs in almost 30 years.

I bought my first MagCharger in 1986 and I still have it. I have had it fixed twice in 27 years. I purchased a second one in 1997 and still have it as well. I had one installed one in each of our patrol cars and never had any complaints. If your light won't hold a charge you need a new battery. Shop around for quality batteries. The only negative is the weight but will come in handy as an alternative asp.

MagLite MagCharger Rechargeable Flashlight

I have had several Maglight flashlights in the past and I was very excited to see that Maglight offered a rechargeable unit. Unfortunately mine has a hard time holding a full charge more than an hour...it has become basically just a lit baton in my duty belt.

This is a classic mag light it is heavy all the controls are smooth it looks great it is very bright . But it charges for a HUGE 16 hours and only runs for two if you have a charger in your car this isent a big a problem, and D cell accessories do not fit this.

Great light except that the bulb keeps coming off center giving a egg shaped light area.

The Maglite is an awesome flashlight. I have had mine for three years. While enduring may years of code enforcement, it has been dropped off a building and left in a flood. Most reliable flashlight ever. I would reccomend it to everyone.

Galls offers a replacement battery pack but when the AC charger dies Galls online catalog only offers DC chargers without ordering a whole new system.

I bought my first Mag Charger when I was a rookie CHP officer 24 years ago. It outperformed all other flashlights of my peers in all ways and it still works great! 15 years ago I bought a 2nd one for my home. They are great gifts also.

very very bright, although you get more light for your $ with the 4D cell(1000.4cp/$) than the magcharger(536.9cp/$) the 1000 hours of battery life pays for itself(free recharge vs. $324 for 1000 hours of D cell)- The only downside is that you may be stuck at a MVA for more than 2 hours when your magcharger needs a recharge, I may purchase a 2nd battery for this reason. I am personally happy with the magcharger and feel alot better with the 51,000cp/218L than the 23,000cp/122.1L of my old 4D maglite.

MagLite MagCharger Rechargeable Flashlight

My department chose the MagCharger as its standard issue flashlight and the majority of officers have decided to purchase their own secondary light. Mine repeatedly won't turn on without having to tap it on something, numerous officers have complained of the bulb falling loose and a good number of them have switches that repeatedly go bad. If it were up to me, I'd issue the SL-20X, but again, it's not my choice. J.A. Hart Columbus, GA PD

This light is as good and can be used as a baton. I had mine now for about four years and will go into the ground with it. Nice and bright but looking at the ultra stinger 75,000 cp. for a back up light. The best around I say.....

MagLite MagCharger Rechargeable Flashlight

I purchased my Mag Charger 19 years ago in 1986 while in Law Enforcement. My fellow officers laughed at me for paying $90 for a flashlight. After they saw its performance, they added them to their gear bags. I used it extensively during my career for Patrol, SWAT Operations, Narcotics & Homicide investigations. It has proven totally reliable through the years. I'm now retired & use it as my primary flashlight as a Commercial Helicopter Pilot & for outdoor activities. My last battery stick lasted 5+ years, I date them, & I just had to replace my charger sleeve after 19 years. The battery stick was the same price as I paid for it from Galls 5 years ago. GO INTO A SITUATION WITH AN ARMED SUSPECT WITH ANYTHING LESS & YOU'LL BE SORRY!!!! I learned that lesson 19 years ago prior to purchasing it.

I have had this flashlight for 10 years and it has been an excellent tool on the steet. The only problem that I encountered was when I dropped the light on concrete near the bulb, there was a chance that the bulb may blow out.

I have had my maglite going on 8 years. Still have the same battery stick and same bulb. It stays charged just like a new one. There are many marks on the bottom of it due to me droping it and has never failed me. Just ordered another one and do plan to order one more. Maglite is the ONLY flash light I will own.

I PURCHASED THE MAG CHARGER BECAUSE OF THE 40,OOO CANDLE POWER RATING, BUT I ONLY HAD THE LIGHT FOR 6 MONTHS AND IT BROKE TWICE.I ALREADY HAD A STREAMLIGHT STINGER XT THAT I WORE ON MY DUTY BELT BUT I WANTED BRIGHTER. WELL I LEARNED MY LESSON. I EXCHANGED IT FOR A STREAMLIGHT SL-20XP AND I LOVE IT. NOT AS BRIGHT BUT IS A LOT LESS WEIGHT AND A BETTER BEAM OF LIGHT
