Not bad, but could be much better.

Like all Maglites it's big, heavy, and durable. Built like a tank. It's a huge step up from the older models. Bright with a good run time. Unfortunately like all Maglites it's also behind the times and was very soon after it was released. For a light this size it should have a much higher output on high. A thousand lumens at the least. With the same run time. Maglica seems to use slightly older, cheaper tech in his lights. They haven't been state of the art since the 1980s.

not dependable when you need light
September 02, 2016

Bought flashlight less than 6 months ago and charged once, second charge and now it wont stay on for more than a few seconds. Maglite doesn't call back so you have to send it to them with $17 to find out if it can be repaired. If you need a dependable light then you may want to look at another light. Be safe, Dave.

not happy with light
February 09, 2015

I purchased this flashlight about 6 months ago after I lost my last mag light. I have to keep recharging it. The battery goes out with no warning. It turns itself off automatically with no warning in the middle of being used.. This means it is time to recharge it.

This new LED Magcharger is so much brighter than my old Magcharger there's almost no comparison. It is BRIGHT! Now I just need to see how long the NiMH batteries last.

These are the best flashlights I have ever used. I own two, the first one purchased in 1985. Both have been repaired once by MagLite and they keep running. Mine are rated at 35,000 Candle Power and I do not know the breakdown into Lumens. The only negative is its weight. Due to the weight it doubles as a straight baton.
