I am an investigator with the Bronx Task Force on Child Abuse Prevention/Emergency Response Unit. I have a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria, the brain for the siren is very easy to mount in the trunk and the key pad mounts on the dash,to wire this siren was not hard at all. I soon found out how simple it is to operate this siren because In my line of work it is important to get to a scene A.S.A.P, but you want to get there safely. In the 2 years that I have had this siren I've never had a problem getting through New York City Traffic quickly and safely. I recommend this siren to anyone in the market, so if your looking for a great siren for a good price..STOP LOOKING cause you just found it. I have this siren mounted in my Ford Explorer Sport Trac. There isn't a lot of space for mounting equiptment in the Sport Trac. The brain fit perfectly behind the back seat, and the remote controls mounted easily on my dash. The brain connects to the remote with RJ-11 phone wire which is easy to run through your vehicle. A nice feature is the horn ring so when I honk my horn it sounds like an air horn. When I'm going Code 3 if I honk my horn it changes my siren sounds for a few seconds or I can hit the horn again for it to switch back. Two things worth noting. (1) To run a microphone from the brain to use as a PA you need to run microphone cable from the brain to your mic. It does not use the RJ-11 for the mic. (2) If you have it so that there is an air horn noise when you honk your horn, and you just tap your horn then it actually sounds like a siren so it's just something to get used to that you have to hold your horn for a full second if you don't want it to sound like you are bleep
