EarHugger T-Series Acoustic Tube Headphones for 3.5mm Threaded Jack

Anybody who has worked in a prison or a jail knows how loud it gets in a cell block. This ear piece is a must have for anyone who works a block. It is true that the product can break somewhat quickly but Galls and the company is good about replacing them. It keeps your inmates from hearing your radio traffic and you don't miss important calls. It takes about a week to get use to having it in your ear after that it's hard not having it in. Must have for anyone who works corrections!

EarHugger T-Series Acoustic Tube Headphones for 3.5mm Threaded Jack

I purchased this product about three weeks ago. The earpiece worked great for the first three days, and then it started going out. As of tonight I have officially canned the earpiece. In my mind it is NOT worth what I paid for it!!

I have used this product for a couple of years now and just a couple of weeks ago it finally took a dump on me. All in all it worked great, I knew about calls before other patrolmen did. It works great and Earhugger has some excellent customer service. The earpiece works alot better than the plug type that is out there. I will be replacing it as soon as I can and it is highky recommended.

I purchased this in December of 2007, for general use. Since then I was very happy with the product, however in September of 2008 it stopped working. This product only has a 6 month warrenty and was none replaceable. I do not recommend this.

EarHugger T-Series Acoustic Tube Headphones for 3.5mm Threaded Jack

I purchased this very model several years ago. Parts of it have worn out, but the manufacturer, EARHUGGER, has been the best about sending replacement parts for free, even out of warranty. Several Deputies in my department have bought them since I did and even more are buying them everyday. Watch, as soon as I get every deputy hooked on them, the Admin will decide to buy them for us!!

I purchased this for my HT750, but the jack would not fit into the mic for my HT750. I gave it to a friend that had the HT1000, and it fit in that jack great.

This product lets me be tactical and is a good product. I don't have much experience with ear pieces and this is only my first day wearing it, but so far I like it. Positioning in the ear takes some getting used to and the only drawback I have so far, is I have to turn the volume almost all the way up on my handpak to hear traffic normal. I don't know if this is caused by the handmike or the earpiece itself. Again, good product, especially for the price.

I went through three of these before I gave up on them last year. When they worked, they worked great. But they only lasted a week before I wasn't getting any transmissions and the wires would get stretched and lose their connections were the acoustic tube begins.

At first, it hurt my ear and it cut the inside of my ear after a fight. But, I took a pair of scissors and trimmed down the ear piece. Now, I have used it for the past 6 months with no problems. I will not go on patrol again without it.

I had this thing for about a week. It was great for the week. Then, not so much. Mid-shift, it no longer worked. The only saving grace is Gall's was good about getting me a new one at no cost. Great customer service, not such a good product.

EarHugger T-Series Acoustic Tube Headphones for 3.5mm Threaded Jack

It's true that these ear pieces seem to go bad after a short time. It really depends on how bad the plug part gets abused. I've used these for 2 years now and I have had good luck. I've purchased 2 of them and had both of them eventually go bad. The company, Ear Hugger, stated that they come with a 1 year warrantee and sent me out a new one at NO CHARGE. I talked to them just today and they stated that the factory just made some changes that should help the durability of the plugs to prevent the most common problems. These are a great deal and it's a great company too.

EarHugger T-Series Acoustic Tube Headphones for 3.5mm Threaded Jack

Some of us, at our Department, have purchased this earpiece but they have not held up, one earpiece lasted just over a shift. The earpiece works great because no one hears your radio traffic and in the case of clearing buildings you can stay concealed longer. I have been in foot pursuits and physical altercations and the earpiece has not come out. If you are going to get an earpiece, I would suggest purchasing one that is more durable than this one, I am, you get what you pay for.

This earpiece is excellent. You will have to give it some time though after first buying it. For the first week of using it my ear was sore, but I later got use to it.

EarHugger T-Series Acoustic Tube Headphones for 3.5mm Threaded Jack

This item is very good, however the durability of the threaded 3.5mm Jack that plugs into the radio is not durable. I've now gone through 3 of these earpieces in a matter of 5 months. They just don't hold up. Radio transmissions will cut in and out when it starts to fail. When they are working properly, they do really work great. Something needs to be corrected with the plug type or location of the earpiece into the radio itself.

EarHugger T-Series Acoustic Tube Headphones for 3.5mm Threaded Jack

The concept of this product is good, since I feel it's a must have for any police officer. Having an ear-piece is an officer-safety issue considering there are situations where you won't hear your satellite speaker when you need to. The earhugger product, though is not all its cracked up to be. Three weeks ago I ordered this ear-piece set and it promptly broke one week later. I took an inventory of all the pieces that came in my first pack and I ordered another one. The second order did not have the solid, clear around-ear piece like the first one, it had a different covert-black ear tube, and lacked a right ear form-fit piece. While I can use it, I question why two identical orders would come almost completely different.

My FTO advised I should have one of these. I was alittle leary and now I can't live without. We do alot of building searches and deal with alot of warrants. So it's awesome because they don't hear that they're wanted or when you are in loud noises it helps you. At first it hurts your ear but then you get used to it. Love the product .

Good for the price, uncomfortable if worn all night long. Can't have the volume up to high on your radio otherwise hard to hear but it works great and is nice to have if you work in a noisy environment, very tactical, easily concealed.

Very uncomfortable in my ear, after only a few hours of use I felt like my ear was badly bruised. After 4 shifts, I couldn't hear transmissions through it unless I used tape to secure it at an angle to my antenna. The earpiece fell out the first time I got into a foot pursuit.

I bought this ear piece not too long ago and yes your ear does hurt after using it, but after about a week of use your ear gets used to it. This product can keep you unheard when radio traffic is a must in quiet situations. Also make sure that you have the ear piece in correctly, have a fellow officer check it out for you. Once popperly put in your ear you should be able to turn your head back and forth rapidly without the earpiece falling out. Great product! Must Have!

If you plan to use this at work,ie. police work etc. The jack that goes to the lapel mic is approx. 2 inches long. So it gets in the way. I would buy this again.
