I have been a Danner fan for years. For those of you thinking of transitioning from one of your more "typical" LEO boot to these, initially you will notice this boot is beefier and heavier. The leather quality is great. When they say its waterproof...its waterproof. If you clean and polish these boots on a regular basis, they will hold up for a long time. Plus, if you have a cobbler shop close by, you can have these boots resoled. I made it 4 years in these boots on the original soles, operating in both rural and urban settings. It cost me about 70 bucks to resole them. If I'm not mistaken, I believe you can send them back to Danner as well for a resole. Just hit my 7th year wearing these. Like I said, take care of the leather, and the boots will last.
