Danner 8 inch Striker II EMS Side Zip WP Comp Toe Duty Boot

I've been wearing side zip duty boots for about 12 years all together and have had several different brands of boots. I now have several different types of Danner boots the Striker II is the most Comfortable Duty I have ever put on my foot. You can put it on in the morning and take it off in the evening feet aren't sore. A lot of the water proof boots I've had in the past make your feet sweat. Not these even with a full leather they are still cool and warm it was 14 Degrees a couple mornings before thanksgiving 2014 feet didn't get cold either with just one pair of socks. I highly recommend these boots and I will probably own another pair

Great Boots, But I Have to Agree Overpriced - July 22, 2014

Danner 8 inch Striker II EMS Side Zip WP Comp Toe Duty Boot

I just ordered my third pair of these boots (that says something in and of itself). I try not to buy any others, but I guess at some point they will price themselves out of my range. Last pair was on sale, but with shipping etc. they were still $200.00. The problem is that boots are one of those few things, like service firearms, that you cannot afford to scrimp on because the consequences of failure can be troublesome to say the least, whether it is a broken ankle, infected feet or another type of wound, sitting around on the downtime, the one thing that I am sure won't cross your mind is that you saved a few dollars by buying the cheaper product. Sometimes it can strain a budget, but not nearly as much as OWCP time costs.

Heavy Duty - September 20, 2013

Danner 8 inch Striker II EMS Side Zip WP Comp Toe Duty Boot

Very heavy duty, no discernible wear after 6 months of 60 hour work weeks. Very confident to wear around nasty high-speed highway wrecks with tons of sharp debris. Although I would choose a different boot for hiking, it's comfortable enough to wear day-in-day-out as a full-time EMT. I only rated it 4/5 because the tongue and upper "cuff" are unnecessarily way over-padded, which makes it difficult to zip up if you like a tight fit. It's also way expensive, I got them when Galls had'em on sale for $120.....couldn't beat that deal!
