THE HAIX STORY


HAIX® is a family owned company that had its beginning back in 1948. Until 1992, the company manufactured footwear for other footwear brands. At that time, company founder and CEO Ewald Haimerl, a fire chief and master cobbler himself, took over the business and made the decision to start designing and manufacturing his own brand of footwear to the public safety market. Currently operating across the globe, HAIX® has now become a leading edge manufacturer of footwear for law enforcement, military task forces, fire and rescue services, and has also increased its presence in the forestry and outdoor market. Located in Mainburg, Germany, HAIX® employs over 800 people worldwide and in 2011 produced around 665,000 pairs of shoes.
