I Have Owned These Boots For Years, They Wear Like Iron, Shine Up Well And Break In With Ease. Thanks Galls!
I've had these boots for almost ten years. The soles just started to wear out. They were 600 Thinsulate. Very warm for those cold days on the road jobs.
I have worn these boots for 2 years now. 4 days a week. 10 hours a day. (some days longer for OT). By far the most comfortable boots I've owned. I have had other Bates that I thought were nice until I purchased these. Had some 5.11's once as well and they don't hold a candle. They still look professional and hold a shine well. The only think I wish Bates would do with these is place lace up hook style islets on the top portion, as you have to loosen them until the laces almost come out. Even without this feature, I will purchase another pair soon.
I have had these boots for over 2 years and they are by far the best boot for the price. I would even go as far as to say they are better than the Danner's I've had in the past. I've worn Rocky's, Danner's and Bate's and these are the best.
I have owned these boots for over 5 years. I'm on my second set of insoles, the leather has turned, but will still polish, and the leather grain has rubbed off the interior of the collar, but these boos are STILL comfortable and serviceable. These were everyday boots the first 3 years I owned them. Apart from the Bates (now discontinued) Govt issue duty boot that these replaced, they are the toughest most comfortable boot I ever put on.
I bought these boots 6 months ago in August 2013, now its February 2014 and I'm shopping for another pair of boots. I have foot issues with pantar fasciitis (essentially tearing of the plantar fasciitis tendon on the bottom of your foot) thanks to thr e Infantry and I know when a boot gets wore out because I get extreme foot pain. The heel of shoes wear out causes my pain, even with my $300 insoles from the VA. The only boots that have lasted me more than 6 mnths is Rocky boots (can't afford Danners on a Troopers salary). I think I'm going back to Rocky.
There are about as many bad things as there are good things that I can say about these boots. Overall these boots are not very comfortable. Durashock would lead me to believe that your feet don't take a pounding with every step. I'm still shopping for insoles that will make these comfortable. My feet ache from the hard, stiff soles after an 8 hour shift. The tops of the boot have inadequate padding. If you lace them up snug they dig into your calf. If you leave them loose, you risk blisters. They are however waterproof as advertised. They have kept my feet warm and dry.
I was in need of a pair of boots for work. I had just went thru a pair of Oakley's and wanted a pair of boots that were more robust. These boots looked a lot like Danners but didn't come with the high cost. Out of the box these boots were good go to. They wear well, and hold a good shine. I've had them for about 6 weeks now and really don't have any complaints. They've kept my feet warm and dry during our first snow. The only issue I have is I had to add cushioned insoles to these boots. This addition made these boots that much better. I would rate these boots at 4.5 stars on wear, 5 stars on value and 5 stars on looks. I recommend them very highly and I don't think any person can go wrong with these boots.
Theese are by far the best boots I have worn on duty. Great traction, lightweight and easy break in. My last pair of boots were $300.00 pair of Danners, and theese boots perform better on duty then those did. I will be buying another pair.
hard to chase bad guys in a pair of cement buckets, but my pair did last 5 years, but there not made for running
After the two-day break-in period, these boots fit awesome. Great traction on all surfaces and my feet still feel great after a full 10-hour shift. The best boots that I have owned. I feel like they should have cost more than they did.
I purchased these boots a few years ago which i wear 5 days a week doing security enforcement work and they are the best boots that i have ever owned. Very comfortable, light weight and they keep your feet dry and warm. My next pair will be the same that is if they ever wear out, they are very well made. No complaints!!
