Using specialized design concepts and extraordinary construction techniques, ASP® is changing the future of handcuff use. An interlocking, unitized frame of high strength stainless steel is forged on custom-built progressive dies. The cuff is then overmolded with ordinance-grade polymers making it stronger and lighter. Cuffing a suspect is now easier, more efficient, safer and faster. Uses a standard handcuff key. Weighs 9 oz.
- Dual Keyway
Beveled keyway on both sides of each cuff, so a keyway is always accessible. - High Contact Bow
Flat bow section provides single movement application preventing slippage on wrist. - Smooth Action
Engagement is so smooth throughout the 22 positions that no back loading is necessary. - Double Lock and Warning
Double lock foils attempts to circumvent the locking mechanism by trying to jam it. Yellow indicator alerts you to double lock the cuffs before releasing your subject.

Officer Safety
I've seen pairs of these that have failed to reopen and had to be cut off detainees. Also the steel arm easily overlaps the cuff assembly when fighting to restrain someone. Plus there is the fact that most keys won't open these cuffs.

Great Cuffs!
These cuffs are great! All the people saying a normal cuff case doesn't work is fine but they make a case for these cuffs. Good all around cuff

Works Great
I use these everyday and have not experienced any of the problems anyone below me have stated. They use the normal handcuff key. There is play in the hinge, but handcuffing is smooth and not a problem at all.

Better than the S&W 100 !!!
I have owned the S&W 100 handcuff for the last 4 years and just switched to the Asp cuffs. They are just as strong, lighter, and easier to use. I highly recommend these cuffs, remember to buy a proper handcuff case!

DO NOT USE
We had an officer in a physical struggle and the cuffs overlapped the arm assembly. These are no longer authorized. For me one failure is enough. ASP should really reconsider further sales of this cuff.

Good cuffs
I have used these cuffs for a while and they have worked well for me. I am kind of a duty belt snob and I like all my rig to be the same maker so I had to order a size 2 Bianchi to fit my chain asps.

SAFETY ISSUE!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing against ASP but theese cuffs are very unsafe. I've owned 3 pairs hinged & chained. I prefer the chained ASP cuffs but the arm when swinging around will overlap with little pressure(VERY DANGEROUS IN A STRUGGLE) on both hinged & chained. On mine, the arm was crooked and stopped halfway through and needed to be "helped" into locking position.

Mixed feelings
I've had the ASP's for about a year and have had a few issues. During several fights the cuff ratchet overlapped and had a heck of a time trying to get the suspect restrained. For the "happier customers" they work very well and seem to be more comfortable than the S&W M-300. They are much lighter and easier to use with the visual double-lock indicator.

Very Effective Cuffs
I am a loss prevention officer and have had these cuffs for about a year and they haven't failed me yet. I use them about three times a week and on a range of sizes of people. I have aloso had LEs ask about the cuffs and wqanted to buy them from me. Also I have a pink pair and use them on guys that think they're big and bad and I walk them through the store in the pink pair. I would not replace them ever.

AWESOME!!!!!!!
These handcuffs should be on every officer's duty belt, they are the best, I have never had a problem with them. they are very easy to get to the keyholes and everything. Two thumbs way up. Buy these cuffs, they are a good investment.

Officer Safety!
My department has rejected these. Dual keyholes makes it easier for a prisoner with hidden key to unlock. The moveable arm bends easily which could prohibit securing a suspect during a struggle.

Great cuff. But Buyer beware
Great cuffs over all, but there is one problem. Normal handcuff keys don't work for these cuff. So buyer beware, don't lose your key that comes with the cuffs.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TACTICAL CUFFS!
I just completed plain cloths training and all the instuctors who happen to be all sgts. and lts. advised us that these are one of the best tactical cuffs to have along w/ Smiths while on patrol. The features are great and anything you can do to save weight is key, you can def. also trust the 'Asp' name and they will back the product all the way. These cuffs def. give me the added assurance I need to restrain the perps! They look pretty good to, just make sure you keep them out of the case cause like everyone else said they are slightly larger than standard cuffs therefore won't fit, I hang mine on the loop or keeper attached to my duty belt in the front ready to go.

Great Buy!
I love these handcuffs! The ratchet action on these work perfect in situation when you need to quickly apply the handcuffs. It is great that there is no pin for the double lock. The Only problem is that they DO NOT fit standard cuff cases. EVERY OFFICER SHOULD HAVE A PAIR OF THESE HANDCUFFS!

Awesome Cuffs
These cuffs are great. I am a Loss Prevention Investigator and I have been in several fights with shoplifters. These cuffs are awesome because the key hole is on both sides and you don't have to worry about having the hole facing up during the fight making it quicker and easier to get the cuffs on.

Old dog, new tricks
I love these cuffs. I find the double-sided key hole more convenient than anything, especially when switching out cuffs. If you search and watch your prisoners, they shouldn't be able to unlock the cuff either way. They're just a little big, but I keep them in a Tac vest pocket. Regular keys work, I don't think they're "sharp", and they're strong. Only thing...mine don't snap around when they're being applied as well as traditional cuffs.

Asp can't complain
First off let me say up front I have worked in a jail, and now I am on the road. I first read a few reviews on these cuffs and noticed people saying that they are easy to pic because of a key hole on both sides. Ok, first if you can honestly say at 2 in the morning while wrestling with a meth head you always put cuffs on correctly, you are a liar or you don't work the road. Secondly if you are cuffing people properly, back of hand to back of hand you never have to worry about them picking the locks on any handcuffs. About them bending, I had a 50 dollar pair of S&W Hinged and I bent those, I haven't bent a pair of asp's yet, but I am sure I will sooner or later. The fact is about these they are light weight, strong, easy access to a key hole no matter what the situation is, and they are very easy to unlock. The oversized ratchet and pawl actions make them damn near impossible to bang and unlock unlike the peerless cuffs. My review, 5 stars for these cuffs, perfect for the road and the cop that is actually out there doing his job, I carry both the asp hinged and the standard asp chained. Just another note on these cuffs, A NORMAL HANDCUFF KEY DOES WORK WITH THESE HANDCUFFS! IF YOU CAN'T GET THEM TO WORK IT'S OPERATOR ERROR.

Great cuffs! I've been a cop for 21 years and I love these cuffs. A regular key DOES work, and they fit perfectly in an open-top cuff case made for hinged cuffs. Easy to find in the grass and some other officer's unit!

GREAT PRODUCT
I have used these cuffs for about a year, love them. And to address the complaint about them not fitting in a standard cuff case, ASP sells a case for these cuffs, that match anytype of rig, and come in a closed or open case.

Excellent
I haven't experienced any of the problems anyone else has except that the cuffs don't fit a cuff case and open holders are unauthorized for us. These have a really smooth action. They were supposed to be a back-up pair but whenever someone is fighting (which is a lot for my sector) I use these first to initiate my wrist locks because the action is so smooth. This will be the third pair I am purchasing this year. I have had a couple of pairs er... uh... "borrowed" yeah that's the word, and never returned by fellow officers.

Best Cuff's I've ever used!!!
I've been in law enforcement for over 6 years now and also teach tactical restraints... These cuffs are great. For those of you who are saying you're bending them or they don't rotate all the way around without help, there "flex cuffs"., there supposed to have some bend/give to them, Keeps them from breaking. If the cuff won't go around in one shot and needs help, use another set to space the inside double arm of the cuff. (I put the single arm from another pair of cuffs inside the double arm on the pair I was having a problem with and lightly twisted back and forth) And if all else fails, send them back to ASP, they back every piece of their gear 100%, no questions asked.

No Problems
I have 3 pair and love them. Yes the arm can bend. So does every other cuff out there. REGULAR keys work! If it doesn't I would get a new key. They dont fit in a regular case so mine dangle from a loop which saves space on my crowded belt. The action is very smooth.

Great Cuff
I took handcuff training with a Sheriff's Dept. Trainer also teaches for the FBI, and he recommends ASP. I've got huge wrists, and they just fit, even his over-sized S&W's wouldn't fit me. Love these cuffs, No problems with them, the keyholes are tight, you just have to work the keys in and out.

Pro: These are good quality, sturdy handcuffs.

Great Cuffs
These cuffs are great because they are easier to apply to a suspect, and the fact that there is a key hole on both sides makes for easy access to unlock and less worry about cuffing with the holes on top when you are cuffing a less than cooperative suspect. I have also gotten comments from suspects I have arrested that these cuffs are more comfortable than previous times they have been arrested, granted suspect comfort is the least of my concerns, but just something intersting.

Best Cuffs I Have Ever Used!!!!
I recently was introduced to these cuffs from the Captain of our Security force. I currently carry S&W black stainless cuffs, and I will be moving those to secondary duty soon. The only downside to this cuff is that it will not fit any standard duty case. I use these cuffs regularly on duty and have not failed yet. Awesome Cuffs!
I use handcuffs a lot working at a correctional facility and these are great! They're easy to put and the dual keyway makes taking them off less of a hassle. Good Cuffs
I worked corrections for 5 years before I became a police officer, one thing I have depended on is a good pair of cuffs. I love the light weight of the cuffs, and the smoothness that comes when you are applying them. Since I have bought mine I have seen more of my co-workers purchasing them, I left a pair on some one I passed off to another oficer and the officer kept the cuffs for about a month before returning them to me saying it was a testing period until he bought his.

One thing I've noticed with mine and those of others is that the plastic portion seems to be sharper than the same portion of steel cuffs. If you strain against the cuffs they'll cut the wrists of the person cuffed fairly easily.

Great for "Yes" people
I own a both chain and hinge style and love them both. They are perfect for "yes" people who aren't going to be a problem. That being said I keep a pair of Peerless hinge cuffs on the front of my belt for the "no" people. Yes the arm can bend and yes someone could pick the lock more eaisly because there are two sets of holes. But if you give me a key and any set of chain cuffs behind my back I can be out of them in less than 30secs.

ASP, deescalating the violence.
ASP can have multiple slots on each side, suspect can have a key and still be in full custody an hour later. ASP action and close gap selection when the gates are closed is a secure arrest. Also, the large knuckles at the base give a sure grip when one gate is taken off during uncuffing, steel liner inside polymer sleeve proved strong. Suspect was stretched out and calmed, instantly. Slight red mark on wrist disappeared after a few minutes.

Awesome Cuffs
I'm an Army MP working in Army Corrections facilities, and just a few things about these cuffs:
1) Yes, it is easy for the arm to overlap. If you apply them correctly, even in a struggle, this is not a problem.
2)I've used several different keys with these cuffs, not including the one that came with them, and had little difficulty unlocking them.
These cuffs have been invaluable when subduing fighting inmates or moving compliant max custody inmates. I highly recommend them, and will be buying another pair soon.
